Boxing day has ended, time to put the pent to rest and enjoy the evening... happy CharMe days! Wierd little shapes came out of today's doodle...
Got to -z- day 26 and it's BOXING day!! Yay. It has been an interesting and whirlwind investigating of ocean life and since I have a few days left I'm going to revisit some of the letters I enjoyed more!
I sat in the shade and drew most of today. Such a great way to spend Boxing day!
So, still a few days behind... with the 24th December officially today... 4 letters still to go... oh well, this is too much fun to just run through without researching the animals I'm drawing. I'd love to spend more time on them, and hopefully I can get back to the 'ocean' soon. So, today is Christmas eve, and I have W, X, Y and Z...
Happy little girl called Esmeralda - loves music and dance... her favorite time of day is morning, when she can dance and skip to the beating of the tambourine.
Already on Q! Behind but having a ball... I spent the day at the ocean today, so I felt very very inspired!
Favorite pen finished! Argh! So, I landed up using brush and ink! Didn't go too badly, but I must remember to get new pen BEFORE christmas!
There is a particular little girl who has been very ill this year. When a shout out came through one of the forums I'm on, to do an illustration of a little girl fighting a monster, I jumped at the chance.
Unfortunately, it being the end of year and everything, I really only got to spend about three or four hours on the final colouring each, which gave me good insight into working quicker and the positive, I now know what not to do, and will continue to improve on my digitial work.
First layer - pen and ink - hand drawn on A3.... I have found after INKTOBER, that my line work is stronger and quicker, so coming up with the concept and line work, went very smoothly - I believe I may even have dreamt about these scenes up til I had the chance to do the line work... My son says the dragons/monsters/demons are sleeping, and I'm ok with that - illness for children can be very very scary for both the children and then people who love them, so I didn't feel the need to make the monsters particularly 'dead', just 'exhausted'.
My digital colour palettes and shading is improving, and so during December and January I will be working through all my wonderful doodle day subjects, and making artwork to a better standard and quicker :)
Above.... work in progress with my Bosto...
