So, I had a really interesting talk to the Artist (with a capital 'A') behind the counter at the art shop on Wednesday. I found out all sorts of interesting points. I've been using my ink pencils wrong... I'm rotting the wood, which is why I thought they were so rubbish. They're not. Not at all, in fact, now that I have the blocks, it's been FABULOUS to just 'play'. I'm checking out my papers too.. Artist (with a capital 'A') showed me the difference between using inktense blocks on watercolour paper - the best you can get - and printing (litho) paper, about 320gsm. WOWOWOW! Revelations!
So, to said Artist - with a CAPTIAL A - this week you changed my workflow... more playing to come! As my friend pointed out on facebook - play play experiment and then play some more... I have really just been controling the colour through line, but now, it's experimenting with textures, waterbottles and straws time!
